Popular Attractions in Castleblayney

Big Tom Statue

Are you a country music lover? Your stay at The Haggard self catering accommodation would not be complete without a stopover at the Big Tom Statue located at Castleblayney Market House. There is also an opportunity to visit his memorial garden and graveside in Oram village which is less than a 10min drive from The Haggard.

Castleblayney is one of the few towns in the Country which can boast of its very own 10 Pin Bowling facility. In addition, it has a 10,000 sq. ft soft-play area which is equipped with a 3 tier climbing frame, slides, ball polls and toddler play area.

Golfing

Concra Wood Golf and Country Club is an 18 hole par 72 championship course located on the outskirts of Castleblayney just 2.5 km from The Haggard. The Country Club has a bar and restaurant and was designed by Christy Connor Senior and Junior and opened in 2008.

Lough Muckno Leisure Park

The Haggard Self Catering accommodation is just 1.5 km from the magnificent Lough Muckno Park which is set on 900 acres of wooded country with many activities including nature walks/trails, fishing, water sports and picnic areas.

Pay a visit to the Music Wall of Fame which gives the history of the musical heritage from the local area. Included you will find information on Big Tom, Paddy Cole, Anna Mc Goldrick and many more. The wall is located beside the Glencarn Hotel.

The organisers of the Fair Day have announced their plans to amalgamate the Fair Day on the same weekend as the Back to Castleblayney Weekend and the Big Tom Memorial Weekend. A ll three events will now take place on then weekend 27th to 29th September. Why not make a weekend visit to Castleblayney and stay in the Haggard Self Catering.
